Tango Festival by Wine Route, is incorporated from 2008, as a tribute to the city music. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate of Artistic Activities, the Ministry of Tourism and Bodegas Argentinas. Bodegas de Argentina, proposed as National Drink Wine and expressiveness of an art form as the Tango, declared by UNESCO “Intangible Cultural Heritage“. The amalgamation of Wine and Tango was inevitable, after Mendoza accede to the privileged circle of Wine Capitals worldwide and the province invited to all the tourists around the world to take great tours in Mendoza.
It has featured local artists of international standing, walking Mendoza wineries. The festival has solidadarios purposes, tickets are exchanged for milk crates that are then delivered to the program Rotalac Mendoza Rotary Club East.
This year’s event will run from 16 to 27 September and will be the seventh edition of the Tango Festival by Wine Route invites the government of Mendoza
It has the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Tango by the Wine Roads has become the most important event in the region, where the exquisite art of urban music and its close relationship with wine can be enjoyed attending concerts and dance to be held in wineries, theaters and heritage sites in our province, positioning in the tourism and cultural calendar at national and international level. Besides the Tango will be at art shows, clothing fairs, lectures, conferences, workshops, milongas, tango and tango bars in film.
The Festival coincides with the holidays for the independence of Chile, making it a major tourist attraction.
As done in previous editions, the seventh edition of the Festival will be dedicated to honor one local national figure. Nationwide will highlight the work of Aníbal Troilo, “Pichuco” the greatest Argentine bandoneon player on the centennial of his birth. Bandoneon virtuoso performer, his genius overshadowed a great humility; in their orchestras were formed and succeeded best tango musicians. Composer and Orchestra, cultivated and developed a special personality in the tango with an impressive capacity of public contact
At the local level is to rescue the work of the Brothers Orchestra Appiolaza and “Polish” Krisak Andres who contributed to the development of our cultural identity and 2×4 music throughout the Cuyo region.
The “Tango on the Wine Roads” Festival pursues a united purpose, as tickets for concerts in Bodegas, Municipalities and heritage sites are exchanged for milk cartons for infant nutrition aimed at CONIN foundation.
In 2013 the pace of 2×4 Mendoza’s geography and invaded about 7000 attendees enjoyed the 21 concerts. Over a ton of powdered milk was raised during the cycle and will go to the Foundation CONIN.
