It is one of the prettiest villages in northern Argentina. Iruya is all an isolated temporary outpost not only by the height of 2780 meters above sea level in the province of Salta, but also by being besieged between two rivers: the inhabitants preserve customs of indigenous cultures between narrow cobbled streets and steep with adobe houses.
