Where you stay

Three hotels, and what each one gives you

At Iguazú the hotel is not a detail: it decides how close you sleep to the falls and at what hour you can be standing in front of them.

What a private journey includes

The difference is in what you do not have to think about

Your own guide and vehicle

Not a seat on a coach. The day starts when you decide it starts, and it slows down wherever you want to stay longer.

Both circuits of the Argentine park

The Upper and Lower circuits and the Devil’s Throat, walked at your own pace rather than at a group’s.

Every transfer arranged

Someone is waiting with your name at the airport, and the same driver takes you back when you leave.

One person from first email to last day

The travel designer who answers you is the one who plans the trip and the one you call while you are there.

How the stay is shaped

Two nights, and one day that you will not forget

This is the shape most travellers choose. Yours is decided with you.

  1. 1

    The day you arrive

You are met at Cataratas del Iguazú airport and taken to the hotel. The afternoon is yours: the jungle, the pool, or nothing at all.

  2. 2

The full day at the falls

The Argentine side with a private guide: the Upper Circuit, the Lower Circuit and the Devil’s Throat, in the order that suits the light and the crowds that day.

  3. 3

    The day you leave

Time for what you did not fit in — or simply a late breakfast — before the transfer back to the airport.

Questions

What travellers ask us about Iguazú

Which of the three hotels should we choose?

It depends on what you want the hotel to give you. The Meliá Iguazú is the only one inside the national park, so the falls are a walk away rather than a drive. The Loi Suites sits in the Iryapú jungle, fifteen minutes out, and is the quietest of the three. The Amerian Portal del Iguazú looks over the meeting of the Iguazú and the Paraná at the Three Borders Landmark. We will tell you which one we would choose for your dates once we know who is travelling.

Is it worth staying inside the national park?

For many travellers, yes. Being inside the park means you are already there when the walkways open in the morning and still there in the late afternoon, when the day visitors have left and the light is at its best. It is the single clearest advantage of the Meliá over any hotel in town.

How many nights do people usually stay?

Two or three. Two nights give you one full day at the falls without rushing the arrival or the departure. A third night is for travellers who want the jungle, the river or simply an unhurried morning at the hotel.

Are the excursions private or shared?

Private. Your own guide and your own vehicle at every excursion, so the day runs at your pace. That is the difference between this and a tour bought at a desk.

Can the trip be built around our own dates and interests?

That is the only way we do it. Every journey on this site is a starting point, not a fixed departure: the hotel, the number of nights and what you do each day are decided with you before anything is booked.

Do the falls run all year?

Yes. Iguazú is subtropical and the falls run in every season. The volume of water changes through the year, and so does the heat and the humidity, which is worth taking into account when we choose your dates together.

How does Iguazú fit with the rest of Argentina?

Most travellers reach Iguazú by a short flight from Buenos Aires, which makes it easy to combine with the city, and from there with Patagonia or the Northwest. We arrange the internal flights and the connections as part of the same journey.

How do we start?

Tell us when you would like to travel, how many nights you have and who is coming. We come back within 24 hours with a proposal written for you, and nothing is booked until you are happy with it.
